The animals of Planet Earth met in the jungle to conduct an extraordinary trial.. They accused the Human Race of atrocious crimes: calumnies, bad manners and genocide. The viperine tongue of the Cobra Kali will present proof and arguments against our species, while the Dog Filos, friend and defense lawyer, will try to save us from the sentence. Representatives of different animal familys, from the cow to the mosquito and from the male goat to the tortoise will testify. At the end, the Owl Salomon, judge of this unusual judicial procedure, will issue his verdict: “ Is the Human Race a threat to life on earth, arrogant, cruel and a killer that does not deserve the freedom given by its genes? Or can it still redeem itself before the rest of the animals?. It is time to face the Law of the Jungle.
I enjoyed this very original fable a lot. It is full of humour and very pleasant passages. But it is also a deep reflexion on human nature and its relationship with animals. We must admit that the Human Being does not appear as we would like, but the value of this book is to give us the hope that if Human beings wanted or tried we would be able to do a lot to improve the world we live in. It is a very recommendable book, especially nowadays when there is so much talk about ecology and nature. (Por: a30s)
